-A Wiggle to the Left, A Wiggle to the Right-

Photobucket

Every girl should own a pencil skirt. Every girl should own a red pencil skirt. I've also been getting some good mileage out of my leopard peep toes the last week. One things for certain, though. I need to do something with my hair.

Also picked up two new art books this week while trying to mining for some new inspiration. These were both super color oriented, but I think I'm looking for something a little darker. Any suggestions?

-Strut Strut-

Going on record as saying I have no idea where the hell this obsession with red is coming from, but I'm gonna ride it out as long as I possibly can. When I was younger someone told me "Those who choose red choose to be seen." They were talking about hair color at the time, but I think this applies to clothing as well. I feel as though I may finally be gaining some of the confidence I stole from myself years ago with some rather poor minded choices. Well, fuck that noise. I'm back, bitches.

This outfit is pretty simple. A basic black 3/4 top that maybe came from Target, but I don't recall and the tag is blasted to hell, my bright red mini that I scooped up at Express during my lady day with friends and, of course, my trusty, trashy leopard print peep toe stilettos.

-The Laziest Blog Post You Ever Knew-

Let's just say I'm having a very Florence day.

The new Florence and The Machine album is wonderful and a nice little switch up to my Blood Pressures addiction of the last several months. Also, looking at Ms. Welch just makes me want to return to my red hair days. The girl is a bad influence.

In more fashion-y related news, I got to have a fantastic girls day, with one of my fav ladies. The mission was simple. New makeup. The theme was "Let's Be Girls". I came away from it with Tocca's Florence which is a gardenia drenched dream. No. Seriously. It's gorgeous and I feel so damned pretty wearing it.

Sorry, guys. November is a slammed month for the retail types. Plus I'm attempting Nano. Also, it's essentially video game month. So, until I get around to a proper post, let's day dream about power ballads and pretty princess hair.

-Fanning the Bull-

My friends, allow me to tell you a tale. A tale in which a young woman, with a charming Southern twang and a zest for hot sauce and clothing well beyond her means found herself on a journey. A journey to find the perfect pair of red tailored wide leg slacks.

A journey that was to end not how she expected, with said pair of zazzy trousers, but instead, with the most holy-crap-wtf-am-I-doing floor length chiffon red pleated skirt.

While our heroine's quest failed to yield the boon she thought she had sought, it instead offered up a glorious yay moment to be enjoyed by all.

Seriously though. I am in love with this skirt. It's a little ridiculous and a lot out of my traditional comfort zone, but I'm having so much fun with it. I've been hunting around for a pair of my ideal red slacks for a while now and having little luck, but I found this yesterday while prowling for the elusive pantaloons and this will more than hold me over until I find said pants.

It's just so damned swishy.

I wasn't really sure what to pair it with, but I settled on a plum colored art silk button down, which again, the two colors together were totally not what I was expecting out of me, but I figured I'm trying to have fun with fashion, I might as well go balls out with it.

While out and about I also happened upon one of the Juxtapoz art books featuring silk screen posters.

I've been buying up a lot of art books lately and I'm pretty stoked with this purchase. Definitely a lot of inspiration and for $30, cheap as far as art books go.

-Title Goes Here-

While in New York I snatched up this A Place to Bury Strangers shirt at The Kills concert (which, by the by, amazing fucking show) and ever since it's been getting plenty of play from me. I wear it while doing ballet. I wear it while running errands. I wear it while schlupping around in front of my Xbox. I'm wearing it right now.

What can I say? It's a band shirt and band shirts are pretty freaking great.

The temperature around here has been floating around 78 the last couple weeks, which, to us tropical types is hot cocoa and leather jacket weather. Truth is, I have just been waiting months to run around in this jacket and I'm hellbent on getting as much use as I can out of it before it has to be put away for another 11 months.

Also, how cute and tiny is my Diana mini? It's obnoxiously adorable. Can't wait to get the first rolls of film back on it.
